Torstein Bjørklund
Here is Torstein Bjørklund.
Torstein comes from a small town far up in Norway—almost at the North Pole. In search of slightly warmer temperatures, he set out on his artistic coming-of-age journey and moved to Oslo, where he trained at the National Academy of Theatre. After several years as an actor, he one day discovered the other side of the camera, to great delight. Since that day Torstein has directed a large number of commercials for major brands around the world.
Aside from his commercial work, Torstein is also an acclaimed director of fiction. His debut TV series, the HBO hit comedy “Basic Bitch,” set a new Norwegian subscription record at its premiere and was nominated for the prestigious Gullruten award in 2021. The series won the following year, in 2022. His most recent TV series, “Fling” (TV2), also received a Gullruten nomination for its first season.
Torstein masters offbeat humor with precise, straightforward storytelling and a feel-good sensibility. Drawing on his acting background, he stands out as a director with a special understanding of actors and is skilled at guiding both new talents and seasoned professionals.
