Peter Harton is a versatile storyteller and one of Denmark’s most acclaimed comedy directors. A blend of absurd, comedic, and awkward fragments shapes the framework of Peter’s direction. He has built an enviable reputation for work that is unique, funny, assured in style, and eclectic. Harton effortlessly mixes precise comic performances, cinematic format, and exquisite production design — anchored in a humor best described as dry and dark.

He began his career in the camera department on Danish films, including Lars von Trier’s Dancer in the Dark, before moving into directing.

In 2010 he paused commercial work to direct the cult TV series Rytteriet (The Cavalry) for Denmark's DR2. It quickly became the channel’s most-watched comedy series and won a Robert in 2014.

His work has earned him numerous awards throughout his career, including Cannes Lions, D&AD Yellow and Wooden Pencils, Epica, LIA, Clios, and more.
